Race Reports

Pacific Crest Marathon
Author Last Post
I picked up the state of Oregon by running the Pacific Crest Marathon in Sunriver, OR on Saturday, 25 June 2011. The weather really cooperated with us, as we had sunny skies with temperatures ranging from near 40 at the start (the day's low was 36) to mid 50s by the end of the race. The course was a double loop around a biking/pedestrian path at the resort. There were a number of people walking or biking the course but they gave us runners plenty of room, so congestion/conflict was not an issue. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, with views of forests, snow-capped peaks (Oregon had a snowy winter and cool spring, so plenty of snow has survived), and the occasional river or lake. The marathon was part of a massive sports festival (the half marathon had over 1300 runners, and there were various duathlons, triathlons, a 10k, a 5k, a kids' race, etc. on the weekend) so this small marathon (171 finishers) ended with a large post-race festival. If you are looking for an Oregon Marathon this is hard to beat.
